The Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) is an independent agency that regulates the state’s insurance industry, safeguarding consumers through rigorous compliance checks with state laws. In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Monitor insurance industry compliance with state laws.
  • Collect, validate, and interpret industry data.
  • Support assessments of insurers' business practices.
  • Conduct market surveillance and qualitative reviews.
  • Develop and implement analysis procedures and techniques.
  • Serve as a technical liaison within MIA and with external entities.
  • Participate in occasional travel and training events.
