The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) seeks a Data Analyst to join the MIT Energy Initiative. This role is critical in supporting the Institute Innovation Fellow with various projects, particularly the Global Clean Energy Investment Monitor (GCIM) initiative. The analyst will contribute to economic and climate policy research, collaborating with MIT and external partners.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Advise the Institute Innovation Fellow on diverse analysis projects.
- Focus on building aspects of the Global Clean Energy Investment Monitor.
- Conduct research and analysis on policies related to economics, climate, and energy.
- Compile and analyze data on global clean energy subsidies for database management.
- Collaborate with MIT Center for Energy and Environmental Research and the Rhodium Group.
- Design data architecture and pipelines to address climate policy data challenges.
- Support drafting of research and working papers, and other publications.
- Present research findings and processes to the team.
- Prepare materials for public-facing research projects.
This role requires you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience
- Strong data management and analysis skills, particularly in Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational capabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Experience advising senior organizational officers
You would benefit from having:
- Research experience in government or public policy
- Experience in climate change, sustainability, or energy policy
- Entrepreneurial capabilities for implementing plans independently
