The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join its Energy Initiative team. This role exists to drive research and analysis on pressing economic and climate policy issues, enhancing MIT's Global Clean Energy Investment Monitor project. Working under the Public Sector Data Manager, the analyst will focus on clean energy subsidies and related policies.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Advise the Institute for Innovation Fellow on research and data tool development.
- Build and upkeep the GCIM database with clean energy subsidies data.
- Collaborate with MIT CEEPR and Rhodium Group on original research.
- Design and implement data architecture and pipelines.
- Draft and publish research and policy papers.
- Present findings to team members.
- Participate in public-facing research projects offering materials.

- Bachelor's degree
- Seven years of data analysis experience including complex datasets
- Four years in government or public policy research
- Excellent data analysis skills, especially with Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Experience advising senior officers
- Organizational and collaborative abilities

- Data transformation and analysis in Python
- Experience with Git and GitHub/GitLab
This role will report to the Public Sector Data Manager and focus on the Global Clean Energy Investment Monitor, a partnership with MIT's Center for Energy and Environmental Research and the Rhodium Group.
