National Storage Affiliates Trust, based in Denver, is a leading self-storage REIT operating over 1,000 properties across the U.S. The Report & Data Engineer will join their financial data team to support business analytics and data engineering demands. The role is essential for ensuring timely delivery of high-quality data products and solutions.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Oversee the migration of SSRS reports to Power BI and MSSQL to Snowflake.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and define technical migration strategies.
• Identify and resolve issues in SSRS reports as the primary contact.
• Conduct technical research, data profiling, and test data assumptions.
• Provide analytic solutions that enhance business problem-solving through reports and data exploration.
• Translate technical subjects like data concepts and KPIs into business terminology.
• Document NSA data standards, including development standards and KPI calculations.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to define requirements and address data issues.
• Document existing MSSQL ETL processes and strategize migration to Snowflake.
• Conduct dimensional data modeling and database design for optimized performance.

This role requires you to have:

• Bachelors degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience with SSRS and report system migrations.
• 2+ years of experience with Power BI and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Technical experience in data warehouse development and design.
• Strong SQL skills and excellent communication abilities.
