Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago is dedicated to fostering homeownership and community stability through impactful programs and advocacy. The newly established Data Analyst role will support these objectives by analyzing various data sources for strategic insights. The ideal candidate will work within a collaborative team to enhance program effectiveness and inform public policy.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders to define research questions and gather data.
  • Analyze the impact of ongoing and completed programs.
  • Update understanding of service recipients through client data analysis.
  • Analyze public datasets on neighborhood demographics and housing issues.
  • Create data visualizations and reports for internal distribution.
  • Develop data products for public and advocacy use.
  • Ensure data quality and manage tracking procedures across departments.
  • Code to improve data auditing and reporting efficiencies.
  • Complete reporting for grant and compliance purposes.
  • Work with IT to solve system issues and improve processes.

This role requires you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with analytics experience or a master’s degree.
  • Proficiency in R or similar software for data analysis.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS or similar mapping tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools including Power BI.
  • Strong analytical skills for identifying key findings.

The role requires physical tasks such as long periods of writing and occasional lifting. Travel for training and events may be necessary.
