The NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) is dedicated to quality housing and neighborhood diversity. Within HPD, the Office of Housing Access and Stability seeks to provide New Yorkers with equitable housing opportunities. The Data Analyst in the Homeless Placement Services Unit plays a critical role in enhancing these efforts by managing data to serve the homeless community effectively.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Maintain tracking systems for client applications and referrals.
  • Generate reports on unit targets and workload.
  • Match homeless clients to vacancies through e-RR and other systems.
  • Coordinate data sharing with DSS and HPD for accurate placements.
  • Ensure data integrity in reporting systems like Access and Excel.
  • Update systems in line with business process changes.
  • Troubleshoot reporting issues with team members.
  • Manage a portfolio of homeless set aside units, ensuring effective referrals and placements.
  • Conduct special projects and reporting for leadership.

This role requires you to have:

  • Baccalaureate degree with relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience.
