The NYC Department of Education is hiring a Data Analyst within its Office of the General Counsel to tackle design challenges mandated by a Federal court. This role supports the Director of Systems & Analytics in enhancing the city's public school system with improved data collection and analytics capabilities. The team aims to integrate modern technologies like Microsoft Azure and machine learning to enhance NYCPS operations.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Manage the delivery of business intelligence reports and ad-hoc data requests.
- Conduct research and policy analysis using tools such as Microsoft SQL, R, and Python.
- Develop data dashboards and compliance tracking aligned with state indicators.
- Ensure quality control of data outputs and disseminate reports to stakeholders.
- Organize and maintain various data assets and systems.
- Prepare and interpret statistical reports.
- Solve data system issues through analytical approaches.
- Identify inconsistencies and provide actionable recommendations.
- Facilitate training materials and stakeholder engagement.
