The New York City Department of Education seeks a Data Analyst Specialist for the Transportation Planning and Management Division. This key role supports the Public Engagement Group/Street Ambassadors unit, focusing on Vision Zero safety initiatives and fostering public participation in Street Improvement Projects. The position collaborates with diverse teams to enhance safety and accessibility throughout New York City.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Perform research and analysis on public engagement analytics and strategies.
- Develop and manage databases for public engagement activities.
- Identify and report key performance metrics to optimize outreach efforts.
- Support field assignments, including data collection along commercial corridors.
- Assist the Street Ambassadors with merchant and intercept data collection.
- Contribute to outreach projects such as public plazas and bike lane development.

This role requires you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree with experience in community work or a related field.

- Skilled in data visualization and machine learning concepts.
- Knowledge of database management and ETL pipeline development.
