The Research and Analytics Department in the Office of the New York State Attorney General seeks full-time Data Analysts. These roles are key in supporting initiatives across the Social Justice Division, particularly in enforcing New York's robust voting rights laws. As part of the Executive Division's innovative team, Analysts contribute to essential investigations and policy development, influencing decisions that significantly impact New Yorkers.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Synthesize relevant facts from substantial data sets.
  • Utilize standard, reproducible research methods.
  • Condense complex information into key points.
  • Communicate findings via reports, presentations, and visuals.
  • Create impactful graphics and maps.
  • Identify limitations in data sources or analysis.
  • Develop and program new databases.
  • Aggregate and clean disparate data sets.
  • Troubleshoot data for errors and omissions.

This role requires you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Qualitative and quantitative research proficiency
  • Experience with Python, R, or SQL
  • Strong communication skills
