The Oregon Department of Transportation is committed to advancing transportation safety across diverse programs like pedestrian and bicyclist safety and impaired driving prevention. The Data & Evaluation Analyst will support these initiatives by delivering crucial data insights, ensuring effective use of federal and state safety grants.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Develop research methodologies and procedures to collect and assess highway safety data.
  • Lead the analysis and reporting of TSO safety program performance metrics.
  • Coordinate data input and retrieval for traffic safety databases.
  • Design data reporting methods using software tools.
  • Manage federal and state safety plan development as project manager.
  • Draft and present periodic safety data reports to program managers.
  • Create working agreements with inter-agency partners to execute projects.
  • Ensure compliance with grant funding requirements for data contracts.
  • Work from a standard office with flexible hybrid options post-training and handle occasional in-state travel.

This role requires you to have:

  • Four years of research experience using computerized applications or a bachelor's degree with significant experience in data analysis.

You would benefit from having:

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Power Query in Excel, R Studio, or Github.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in grant project management and compliance with regulation standards.
  • Data compilation and process improvement advisory skills.
