Point72 Realty, through its Cubist Systematic Strategies affiliate, employs systematic trading strategies across various asset classes. The firm is dedicated to research into market anomalies using comprehensive publicly available datasets. The Data Scientist will contribute to the data services group, focusing on the effective delivery of data to support some of the most successful systematic Portfolio Managers.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Identify new datasets and engage with vendors for dataset characteristics
- Develop processes and tools for data ingestion, tagging, and cleaning
- Analyze datasets for descriptive statistics and potential applications
- Research potential alpha signals for Portfolio Manager presentation
- Monitor and enhance automated data collection and cleansing systems
- Explore new technologies for improved data management and retrieval

This role requires you to have:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Data Scientist or similar role
- Experience with large datasets, classification, regression, and predictive modeling
- Proficiency in statistical tests and programming skills in SQL, TSQL, SQL Server, or PL-SQL
- Programming skills in Python and one of C#, C++, or Java
- Strong problem-solving abilities and communication skills
You would benefit from having:
- Ph.D. in computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, or similar discipline
- Experience in the financial industry
- Experience with intraday, tick, and order book data
Candidates should have strong intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and love of process and learning.
