Rutgers University's Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies is renowned for its pioneering research in tobacco-related morbidity and mortality reduction. This role supports the scientific efforts of investigators by conducting comprehensive data analysis on national health surveys.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Conduct statistical analyses to identify tobacco use trends.
  • Select methods under the guidance of the Associate Director/Chief of SMDA to analyze complex survey data.
  • Create data visualizations for presentations and publications.
  • Ensure data quality through rigorous management practices.
  • Develop codebooks based on INTS data.

This role requires you to have:

  • Master’s Degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, or related sciences with 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data querying tools.
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in at least one statistical package, preferably R.
  • Experience analyzing cross-sectional and longitudinal survey data.
  • Project management, time management, communication, interpersonal, decision making, analytic, and reporting skills.

You would benefit from having:

  • Experience with mixed effects models and tobacco use epidemiology.
