The Judicial Council of California serves as the authoritative body for state court policies and operates with the unique power to develop and manage the judicial branch budget. Within its aim to enhance access to justice, the Council is seeking a Data Analyst to join their Research, Analytics, and Data Office. The purpose of the role is to support data validation and the production of statistical reports necessary for effective court operations.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Research and validate technical specifications for JBSIS.
- Review legal code sections to aid in interpreting laws and policies.
- Use programming languages to test and troubleshoot data systems for accuracy.
- Implement protocols to ensure compliance with JBSIS standards.
- Support data-driven decision-making through analytics.
- Facilitate understanding of data for judicial councils and courts.

This role requires you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree with three years of analytical experience in program analysis or equivalent experience.
- Experience in program development and evaluation.
- Master’s degree in a related field like statistics or public administration.
You would benefit from having:
- Knowledge of court case processing.
- Proficiency in R, Python, SQL.
- Skill in using Power BI and Tableau.
- Understanding of statistical concepts and quantitative research methods.
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
