The Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department is seeking an experienced lead data analyst. This role is essential for managing and analyzing tourism-related data, driving data-driven decision-making, and enhancing tourism outcomes across Oklahoma. The team focuses on designing complex queries, generating detailed reports, and ensuring data accuracy and quality.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of tourism-related data to provide actionable insights
- Design and write complex queries to fulfill various data requests
- Develop and maintain comprehensive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for stakeholders
- Foster a collaborative and data-driven culture while promoting data analysis best practices
- Collaborate with senior management to develop data strategies aligning with OTRD's goals
- Implement robust data validation and cleansing processes to ensure data quality
- Apply data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within Oklahoma’s tourism sector

This role requires you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
- Five years of experience in data analysis
- Five years of experience with data management and governance
- Completion of a skills assessment
- Combination of education and experience equivalent to required education and experience
You would benefit from having:
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience with tourism data standards and practices
- Knowledge of tourism policies and industry trends
This is an on-site role, not eligible for regular remote work. The work environment is typically a climate-controlled office with moderate noise levels, requiring prolonged periods of sitting and frequent use of a computer and telephone.
