StateJobsNY is expanding its data analysis capabilities and is looking for three Data Analyst 2 professionals to enhance their Epidemiology, Needs Assessment, and Treatment Data Analysis units. The role is designed to transform raw data into actionable insights. The team’s mission is to support decision-making and improve system efficiencies while staying at the forefront of industry trends.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Respond to agency staff and external stakeholder requests.
• Gather data from various sources such as databases and spreadsheets.
• Preprocess data by scrubbing, filtering, and normalizing.
• Convert raw data into usable formats.
• Create visualizations and dashboards using Tableau.
• Recommend actions based on data analysis to optimize performance.
• Prepare reports and presentations on analysis findings.
• Extract and analyze external datasets like Census and NSDUH.
• Document methodologies and processes for future reference.
• Summarize and interpret historical data trends.
• Conduct advanced GIS analysis and reporting using ArcGIS.
• Develop and communicate Key Performance Indicators.
• Advise on data system and application development requirements.
• Supervise lower-level staff.
