Sun Communities is a leading organization looking for a Data Engineer to enhance their data lake and data warehouse systems within the Azure platform. Collaborating closely with leadership, this role focuses on establishing effective data governance and management practices to meet enterprise objectives.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an Azure-based data platform, including data lakes and warehouses.
- Implement Azure best practices for data platform efficiency.
- Design policies for data ingestion and configure APIs for data extraction.
- Optimize performance through Azure Synapse serverless and dedicated table configurations.
- Collaborate with business units to fulfill data requirements and integration needs.
- Work alongside Microsoft support to ensure data system stability.
- Define and implement data governance and management policies under the Manager, Data Architecture.
- Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and documentation.
- Maintain vendor relationships and business documentation.

This role requires you to have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer or Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or Information Management
- 3 years experience with enterprise data lakes and warehouses on Azure
- Advanced SQL skills and database optimization
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages like C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- Knowledge of CI/CD processes and Azure DevOps
- Experience with ELT and ETL processes
