The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) plays a pivotal role in securing Texas's water future through ecological research and data analysis. The Coastal Ecologist position exists to support the Coastal Science Department in applying advanced statistical and ecological models for water resource planning and environmental impact studies.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Conduct statistical data analysis and ecological modeling for Texas surface water resources.
- Develop and apply quantitative ecological methods and data models.
- Contribute to hydrodynamic modeling of Texas estuaries.
- Perform systematic literature reviews on coastal ecology and related topics.
- Initiate scientific studies and develop detailed scopes of work.
- Execute and maintain R, Python, and ArcGIS scripts for ecological analysis.
- Communicate results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide data and technical support to stakeholders.

This role requires you to have:
- Graduation from an accredited college with a degree in Biology, Ecology, Hydrology, or related fields.
- Experience in statistical or quantitative modeling and analysis of ecosystems.
- Proficiency in R, Python, and ArcGIS.

- Advanced statistical and geospatial analysis techniques using ESRI products.
