Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) is looking for a proficient Data Analyst to join their Managed Care Utilization Review department. This vital role entails overseeing the technical aspects of Medicaid programs, ensuring compliance with Medicaid requirements, and enhancing the effectiveness of the MCUR program through data analysis. The Data Analyst will collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Collect, clean, and organize data from diverse sources, ensuring its accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop and maintain databases and address data quality issues.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to deliver insights to stakeholders.
  • Perform statistical analyses and develop predictive models and algorithms.
  • Ensure data integrity and security, complying with data protection regulations.
  • Collaborate with departments to understand data needs, provide support, and offer training.
  • Select statistically representative samples for analysis and validate findings.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.

This role requires you to have:

  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools like SQL, Excel, and data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex data findings.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under time constraints.
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques, data management tools, and data privacy regulations.
  • Effective collaboration and independent decision-making skills.
