Data Scientist - Insurance Modeling

As part of the Auto & Home Analytics department, the Data Scientist will contribute to major initiatives and develop models that support corporate growth and profitability objectives.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain statistical models adhering to best practices for business goals.
• Educate and support state teams in model implementation and decision-making.
• Execute projects of moderate complexity following project management standards.
• Forecast deliverables and track project timelines.
• Assist in developing communication strategies to support new initiatives.
• Recommend enhancements to products, pricing, and risk management for growth.

This role requires you to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as finance, math, or statistics.
• Experience in personal or commercial lines of insurance.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SAS, or SQL for statistical modeling.
• Intermediate computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and decision-making skills.

You would benefit from having:

• Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics (CSPA) credential.
• Familiarity with personal lines ratemaking and rating plans.
• Experience with linear regression, logistic regression, GLM, GAM, GBM.
