The Greater Houston Retailers Cooperative Association, Inc. (GHRA) is a leading convenience store cooperative in the nation, operating a full-service warehouse and distribution center. The Data Analyst role exists to support business strategies and daily operations through data analysis, helping GHRA navigate a period of change.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Create reports for executives and internal teams
- Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data
- Visualize data using graphs, infographics, and other methods
- Establish KPIs to measure business effectiveness
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends and opportunities
- Evaluate internal systems and develop protocols
- Create presentations and reports based on data findings
- Work with project managers to address analytics needs
- Proactively answer key business questions through data analysis
- Develop and maintain databases and data scripts
- Utilize statistical tools to analyze data patterns and trends
- Assess and compare business performance over time
- Analyze local, national, and global trends affecting the organization
- Prepare management reports on data trends and predictions
- Perform other related duties as necessary
This role comes with the following benefits:
This role requires you to have:
- 2-3+ years of experience with data visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- Confidence in using Excel formulas (VLOOKUP, COUNTIFS, etc.)
- Strong mathematical skills
- Programming languages knowledge like SQL, Oracle, R, MATLAB, and Python
- Technical proficiency in database design and data models
- Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages like Excel
- Ability to write reports and make presentations
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate independently
You would benefit from having:
- Knowledge of database and application software, as well as ERP implementation
- Confidence in creating and applying algorithms to datasets
Bachelor's degree preferred. May require standing or sitting for extended periods, and working in front of a computer monitor. Flexibility to work additional hours when needed.
