Data Scientist I

The University of Kentucky's Institute for Biomedical Informatics is seeking a Data Scientist I for its Medicaid Analytics team. This position focuses on utilizing data science and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and communicate insights. The role is vital to enhancing the research branch's capabilities and supports senior data scientists in various projects.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Conduct statistical analysis and develop machine learning pipelines.
• Analyze and manage large datasets to identify significant trends.
• Develop and test predictive models independently or collaboratively.
• Communicate findings to a range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
• Create data visualizations using languages like R, Python, and software such as Tableau and Power BI.
• Collaborate with senior data scientists on grant proposals and data science projects.

This role requires you to have:

• Proficiency with R, SAS, SQL, and Tableau.
