UMass Amherst, a nationally recognized public research institution, seeks a Data Visualization Analyst. The position supports the Assessment, Survey, and Effectiveness Research office, focusing on creating dashboards that enhance data-driven decision-making and educational effectiveness aligned with the university's strategic goals.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Design interactive Tableau® dashboards to present survey results to diverse audiences.
- Create charts, tables, and visualizations of data, with attention to key demographic variables.
- Collaborate with team members to produce reports, presentations, and online materials.
- Ensure accuracy in data reporting and develop relevant procedures and systems.
- Maintain and document ASER’s data visualization methodologies.
- Support the university's strategic planning and achievement of equitable outcomes.
- Provide training and coaching to dashboard users.
- Manage and prepare datasets for longitudinal analyses.

This role requires you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1+ years of experience in data visualization for surveys
- Proficiency with Tableau®
- Expertise in statistical software (SPSS®, SAS®, STATA® or R®)
- Strong communication and accuracy skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
- Good interpersonal skills
