Scientific Programmer/Data Scientist

The Institute for Health Informatics at the University of Minnesota is looking for a Scientific Programmer/Data Scientist to become part of Dr. Sisi Ma's research group. The team works on the advancement of computational and predictive models applied to the biomedical field. This position supports the institute's mission by fostering research into information systems that improve healthcare delivery.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Construct datasets from a variety of data sources for research purposes.
• Design and develop data processing infrastructure, ensuring data security and integrity.
• Set up and execute computational experiments evaluating machine learning algorithms.
• Implement statistical, data-mining, and informatics algorithms.
• Create documentation for software and conduct technical report writing.
• Mentor junior data scientists.

This role requires you to have:

• M.A./M.S. in a technical discipline with research training.
