The Data Engineer I role is pivotal in the development and maintenance of data systems and pipelines, supporting analytics and visualization efforts company-wide. This position is part of a team dedicated to delivering optimized data solutions across multiple locations.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Develop, construct, test, and maintain data pipelines using various languages and tools.
  • Integrate data of different sizes from sources such as DB2, SQL Server, Web API, and Teradata.
  • Apply validation, aggregation, and reconciliation techniques to build robust data frameworks.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and business partners to understand their problems and solutions, creating tailored data structures.
  • Create scalable, extensible, and maintainable data assets.
  • Contribute to the evolution of enterprise data architecture, including cloud data hosting.
  • Prepare results for interpretation and visualization, communicating findings to management.
  • Support the automation of business process solutions.
  • Guide lower-level Data Engineer peers and perform related duties as assigned.

This role requires you to have:

  • Experience in Java or Scala, Python, and DevOps, including CI/CD and process automation.
  • Understanding of data architecture principles and cloud infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in writing and troubleshooting complex SQL queries.
  • Communication skills and business acumen in financial services.
  • Mentorship capabilities and adaptability to change.
