In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Develop evaluation frameworks for autonomous vehicle performance and simulation quality.
• Create new metrics and interpret trends in data from simulations and on-road driving.
• Formulate new statistical methods for unique AV data challenges.
• Address ambiguous problems and derive data-driven conclusions.
• Engage with Product and Engineering teams to enhance Waymo Driver and simulation software.

This role requires you to have:

• Degree in a quantitative field
• 3+ years experience in data science or a PhD in a quantitative field
• Advanced statistical methods application
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and R
