In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Develop evaluation frameworks for autonomous vehicle performance and simulation quality.
- Create new metrics and interpret trends in data from simulations and on-road driving.
- Formulate new statistical methods for unique AV data challenges.
- Address ambiguous problems and derive data-driven conclusions.
- Engage with Product and Engineering teams to enhance Waymo Driver and simulation software.

This role requires you to have:
- Degree in a quantitative field
- 3+ years experience in data science or a PhD in a quantitative field
- Advanced statistical methods application
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and R
